September 19 -October 22, 2009 Opening Saturday, September 19, 7-9:30pm Barna Kantor Shorted Circuits The Green Box presents a series of works by Barna Kantor, a 2005 MFA graduate of the University of Texas Transmedia Program. Kantor combines video technology with other electronic gadgetry to produce projections and kinetic sculptures. The camera is one piece of equipment he does not use. The videos and moving images in this exhibition are made by a deft manipulation of the technology itself. Kantor is interested in watching our own visual process: the way we process visual data. He is searching for the fastest loop between 'the way we see' and 'what we see'. His goal is to short the visual cortex through the ultimate seizure.
